Signing, Striping & Pavement Markings

TQC understands the importance of signing, striping, and pavement markings to safety. Motorists rely on signing, striping, and pavement markings to anticipate road conditions, provide direction and guidance along the roadway, and identify changes in the operating conditions.  The use of advance warning signs, lane control signs and arrow/only pavement markings are the typical elements utilized in urban settings to guide motorists between and in advance of intersections.  Other markings which may be used to guide traffic through intersections in urban settings include the 4” dotted lines, also known as “skip-striping”.  These stripes are typically used to delineate turning movements and can be useful in identifying to motorists the anticipated turning path of truck traffic. TQCs team of engineers and technicians are experience in reviewing these conditions in the field and perform all designs in accordance with the requirements of the MUTCD.

TQC understands this aspect of traffic engineering design will also require a focus on pedestrian safety applications, including high-visibility (continental) crosswalks or transverse pavement markings.  TQCs team of engineers and technicians have the requisite experience not only with the design, placement and preparation of signing, striping and pavement marking plans, but the knowledge and experience to decipher the appropriate application of signing, striping, and markings.
